Be Stupid For Me - Chapter 9
During the afternoon, Demi and I were talking on our way out when Selena appeared.
“Hey!” She greeted.
Demi and I greeted back.
“So, you and Miley, huh?”
“I kinda guess so…”
Demi snickered.
Selena nodded slowly like she’s ready to choke.
Then the awkward silence began. Demi was smiling like an idiot the whole time because she enjoyed the awkward tension.
“Hey, can the three of us hang out later?”
“No problem with me.” I said wanting to spend time with Selena.
“That’d be great.” She replied.
“Alright, whose house?”
“Mine.” I said. ”I know you want to see Joe.”
Demi blushed and Selena laughed, I laughed along.
When we got to the house, we stayed at the living room watching a sappy chick flick that both girls obviously liked.
“I have a question for both of you” Demi asked after the movie.
“What?” Selena asked.
“Do you believe that there are people that are really meant for you?”
“Of course.” Selena replied.
“How about for guys?” Demi asked
“About the idea of soul mates? well, I believe that if I see the person that makes me happy, that makes me go to school everyday, that makes me smile with her sillyness, that I could spend the day with and not get tired of her, that I can’t last a day without, that for me is soul mates, even if we’re not meant for each other because being soul mates doesn’t necessarily means that you you should be together, it only means that you’re perfect for each other, period. not perfect together and not perfect friends. simply perfect for each other.”
Demi was obviously in awe while Selena sat dazed for a moment.
“Sel, are you okay?” Demi asked.
“Huh? Yeah, I’m fine. why?”
“Because you’ve been acting weird lately.” I said.
“Well, how can I not with you and Miley and -“
“What about me and Miley-“
“I don’t know, I just don’t feel comfortable about it. I’m not exactly sure, I just-“
“How can you not be sure?” I asked.
“Well, I don’t know, It’s just, I don’t think you guys are right for each other.”
“Yeah, what makes you an expert?”
“It’s how I feel, I can’t change it.”
‘I can’t change the way I feel about how wrong you are for Lautner but you haven’t heard me complain until now.”
“Well, how was I supposed to know that?”
